The Early Childhood Education (ECE) Director/Instructor will lead a program that educates adult students to become professionals in working with infant to Pre-Kindergarten (Pre-K) children. This will be done by instructing the students in creating stimulating and appropriate educational environments that assist in the cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development of infant to Pre-K children. The director/instructor and program will create a positive environment for adult student learning that will prepare and support the lifelong professional growth of the ECE program students. In order to respond to the individual needs and abilities of the FHTC students, the director/instructor will work closely with the staff and administration of the College.
The appropriate candidate will have a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education (ECE) or Elementary Education (EE), at least two years of recent paid employment or two years of teaching within the field or related field of instruction, thorough knowledge of developmentally appropriate curriculum and activities for the needs of infant to Pre-K children, knowledge and use of computers and current technology required, good written and oral communication skills required, and a desire to continue career improvement.
