Admissions Specialist

Flint Hills Technical College is seeking an individual for an Admissions Specialist position. The Admissions Specialist works with the Student Success Center staff to facilitate student success and promote the mission and goals of Flint Hills Technical College. This includes helping to develop a positive public image for the institution through regular contact with prospective students and managing prospective student tracking procedures to maximize the conversion of inquiries to enrolled students. To accomplish these tasks, the specialist works closely with the staff, faculty and administration of Flint Hills Technical College.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Respond to phone calls about admissions and student services
  • Assist with processing admission applications
  • Provide campus tours and meet with prospective students during campus visits
  • Assist in the development and coordination of special events for FHTC
  • Represent FHTC at off-campus events as needed

 

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; Technical Certificate or Associate Degree preferred
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work professionally and effectively with internal and external customers
  • Proficiency in data entry and personal computing skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, email, and the Internet.

 

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Full-time, 40 hours/week, 12 months/year
  • Work schedule: Monday-Friday
  • Hourly rate based on experience, starting at $15.15
  • Benefits include a KPERS retirement plan and paid health insurance
