Description
This course is designed to provide students with a knowledge base of the science and physical properties of dental materials. Through laboratory exercises, students will have hands-on experience with dental materials used in dental hygiene and dentistry while applying their knowledge of dental material sciences. Students will manipulate and compare various dental materials. Each student will produce diagnostic impressions and models as well as recognize the properties and manipulation of gypsum products. Skills are developed concerning the properties and manipulation of temporary and
permanent dental cements, materials used in tooth restoration and dental impression materials. HYG PROGRAM PREREQUISITES
